Client conversation, product scope, architecture, infrastructure, front end, back end, testing, release, years of operation - I do the full software development cycle myself, and have since 2001. With Claude Code and a workshop of AI agents I now ship in a day what a team used to ship in a sprint, and my own review is still the gate before anything goes live.
The roles a software project normally splits across six people. I have held every one of them, usually at the same time, and the person who promises is the person who builds, tests and ships.
The first conversation, the scope on one page, what not to build, weekly demos with numbers. Clients stay 8 to 17 years because there is no one between them and the code.
System design, data model, integration boundaries, build-versus-buy calls - for payment rails, marketplaces, industrial systems, DeFi protocols and AI pipelines, designed to be handed off.
AWS, Cloudflare, Docker, Terraform, CI/CD, on-prem and hybrid deployments. The cloud bill is a design input, not a surprise at the end of the month.
Front end, back end, APIs, databases, workers, browser extensions, plugins - TypeScript, Python, PHP, SQL and whatever the legacy system speaks.
I test what I build: Cypress and Playwright end-to-end suites, unit tests as a release gate, load and regression runs before every release - not a separate department, a habit.
Fifteen years hiring and leading small senior squads, up to ten client engagements in parallel. Today the squad is AI agents under the same gates. When a job is bigger than one person, I bring in people I have worked with for years: a vetted senior team is up in days, with the architecture and the review still mine.
I run Claude Code every day as a workshop of agents: scoped tasks, review, tests, deploy. 9,700+ commits across 74 repositories in the last 90 days, with my review as the gate before anything ships.
Eight years as the exclusive engineering partner of an ACH and digital-check platform: Plaid Link and bank verification, Dwolla transfers, an NMI card gateway and Stripe, merchant onboarding and risk state, and a versioned partner API that other platforms embed. Regulated money movement under live traffic.
A custom platform for a 10,000-SKU fashion retailer that ran fifteen years and its full Shopify migration with SEO equity intact; a multi-vendor US and Canada marketplace; Magento and POS integrations; storefronts for beauty, wine and grocery brands.
Seventeen years with a scoreboard manufacturer: quote and configurator flows on top of a content and CRM platform. Lately a parts-search engine over industrial catalogs, an operator console for industrial machinery, and controller code for factory machines (PLC, Structured Text).
Product engineering for DeFi protocols - liquid staking, governance-incentive marketplaces, tokenized yield, NFT lending - and a web3 security firm: Next.js interfaces with ethers.js and web3.js, wallet integrations, on-chain indexing (Subgraph, Substreams), node operation on AWS.
A search platform on MLS feeds that ran fourteen years: thousands of programmatic pages, an in-house CRM and email automation, organic traffic as the growth channel. Luxury listings and a commercial real-estate investment firm alongside it.
The first AI Engine Optimization platform, built end to end: four apps, crawl and audit workers, an MCP server, a Chrome extension and a WordPress plugin. A multi-tenant AI chatbot and voice platform; Telegram bots and mini-apps; Claude and OpenAI in production, RAG over company data, document extraction at batch scale.
Programmatic SEO, Google Ads and analytics wired into CRMs, per-client tracking scripts served from a CDN, an AI-visibility program that moved a manufacturer's score from 33 to 90, and migrations off WordPress and Webflow onto fast static stacks.
Three properties for one film business - an arthouse cinema, a distributor and a production company - with an online streaming platform on an AWS backend, an admin portal for content and users, and scalable video distribution.
Plaid Link across an ACH and digital-check platform: link-token issuance, re-authentication and update mode for expired items, instant and micro-deposit verification; Dwolla funding sources and transfers, an NMI card gateway and Stripe alongside them - under live merchant traffic and regulated money movement.
Google, Shopify, CRM and ad-platform connections across multi-tenant products: consent flows, refresh-token storage and rotation, per-tenant credentials, and re-auth paths for when a provider revokes access. The clean half of aggregation.
A real-time market-data recorder for a marketplace with no public API: GraphQL operations captured from the web client, authenticated browser sessions, adaptive rate limiting with 429 backoff, anti-bot and fingerprint handling, hundreds of concurrent live streams inside a fixed request budget, evidence behind every recorded fact. Plus collector fleets over SEC EDGAR full-text search, CourtListener, SAM.gov, regulator feeds and MLS.
A versioned partner API (v1/v2) with API-key auth, per-app audit logging and OpenAPI docs,
so other platforms could open bank accounts, move money and bill their own customers through
ours; a Bearer-keyed public API serving /openapi.json and hosted docs, shipped
with a reference client that shows what the integration should feel like; an MCP server, a
Chrome extension and a WordPress plugin in the official directory.
The surfaces a customer's own users touch: the bank-connect flow, hosted billing and checkout links partners generate through the API, per-client tracker scripts served from a CDN, embeddable chat widgets and mini-apps - dropped into someone else's product and never thought about again.
AWS, Cloudflare, Docker, Terraform and GitHub Actions; migrations between clouds and onto plain VMs when managed services stop earning their bill; on-prem and hybrid deployments where the data has to stay in the building; Linux administration since the managed-hosting days.
Taking over what someone else left behind: PHP, .NET, Elixir, Go, WordPress plugins, discontinued industrial HMIs. SeamlessChex started as a stalled prototype and stayed for eight years.
Cypress and Playwright end-to-end suites, unit tests as a release gate, infrastructure as code, documentation and handoff - so the system keeps running when I am not looking at it.
Fifteen years hiring and keeping senior squads, up to ten client engagements in parallel, now the same gates run with AI agents alongside me: scoped work, review, tests, deploy. Weekly releases, honest scope before code.
Took over a prototype stalled after two years of outside development, re-architected it on AWS in six months, and owned bank connectivity, merchant onboarding and the partner API that let other platforms embed the payments.
Built and ran the custom platform behind a 10,000-SKU fashion retailer, led its Shopify migration with SEO equity preserved, then helped the same owner relaunch as a fine-mineral brand with an AI-narrated video catalogue that publishes itself.
From a static site to a content, CRM and funnel platform with quote and configurator flows, then an AI-visibility program that moved the measured score from 33 to 90.
Recording sales the platform itself does not publish: private GraphQL, session management, rate-limit discipline, a Postgres record with provenance, a comps API and a human-review app on top.
Seventeen data collectors across regulatory, court and procurement sources, AI scoring and a daily brief - from idea to production in weeks, with a compliance boundary that keeps the system out of buy/sell territory.
Passionate company with thorough knowledge in software engineering from inside and out, as well profound understanding of Google Ads.…
Alex is an exceptional team lead whom I trust implicitly. I would highly recommend.
